The School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad is organizing a workshop on “Protein Structure and Drug Discovery”, which will cover the various aspects of Structure Biology as well as structure-based drug designing. The workshop will be held for 10 days (August 27 to September 5, 2017) and will have lectures and tutorials by eminent structural biologists from India and abroad. Prof. Sir Tom Blundell from University of Cambridge will be inaugurating this workshop on August 27, 2017.
The participants for the workshop will be masters and PhD students, postdocs and new investigators from academic and industry, who are interested in structure biology, crystallography and drug designing.

The themes of the workshop are:
- Exposing the participants to the fundamentals of protein crystallography and other structural biology methods for application in Drug Discovery.
- Train the participants with experiential aspect of protein crystallography
- Exposing the participants to the molecular modelling and drug design methods by using the crystal structures of drug target proteins for drug discovery.
