Inculcating research aptitude and developing research skills in students
Event Details
In the context of the National Education Policy (NEP), students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are required to study research methodology as one of the paper/course, whereby, it requires them to understand basic concepts in research and research methodology, acquire and enhance their research skills, and learn to adapt to research culture.
Objectives: The purpose and rationale of this workshop is to inculcate research aptitude and develop research skills amongst students. The objective of this workshop is to encourage students towards having an interdisciplinary approach by understanding and integrating different disciplines in pure and applied sciences. Moreover, the concepts learned in this workshop would also help the students in preparing and executing a Research Project/Dissertation while pursuing higher studies.
Topics to be discussed: Research Based Paedagogy Tool (RBPT) with activity based/experiential learning approach to learn basic concepts in research, types of research, research methodology, research abstract, literature review, types of research articles, writing research paper/manuscript, reviewing research paper, citing references/bibliography, research poster/presentation, research ethics/avoiding plagiarism, writing research proposal, writing statement of purpose, overview of research fellowships etc.
