Nature Conservation Foundation is looking for a motivated colleague to join a new bat conservation project in collaboration with Bat Conservation International, USA. The candidate must be passionate about bat research and conservation, have strong communication and networking skills, and have demonstrable experience/​knowledge of wildlife conservation, scientific outreach, policy, and governance in the Indian context. Scientist‑G
National Institute of Animal Biotechnology

NIAB invites applications from suitably qualified, dynamic, result oriented and dedicated Indian citizens for Scientist‑G positions.

The selected candidates are supposed to work on the health improvement of livestock using modern biotechnological tools and address issues related to infertility linked with animal productivity. In addition to their own research programme, he/​she is expected to provide support to other research projects at NIAB and put efforts towards institute building. The selected candidates are also expected to lead the HRD programme of the Institute. In addition, candidates have to attract extra-mural funding to establish and lead research programs in upstream mandated areas. More information can be found here.

Applications are invited from Indian citizens for the award of ​“DBT-Research Associateship’’ for pursuing research in frontier areas of Biotechnology and Life Sciences. The Associateship is tenable in Premier Research Institutions / Universities including non-profit R&D Institutions within India. The Associateships are awarded under the ​“DBT-Research Associateship’’ programme supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. Qualifications: The applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in Science, Engineering or M.D./ M.S. degree in any area of medicine with research interests in Biotechnology and Life Sciences and a good academic record. The key responsibility for the candidate will be to perform experiments in Microbiology (compound screening, MIC/MBC, intracellular assays, cell culture assays etc.) with assay development. Scientist I
International AIDS Vaccine Initiative

IAVI is seeking a highly motivated detailed oriented Scientist to coordinate and ensure scientifically robust execution of projects in alignment with project leads and the scientific Program Lead at IAVI, India and Director, IAVI-NAC. The projects will be on HIV‑1, COVID-19 and other priority disease areas of the laboratory. The Scientist coordinates and works with the team identifying technical gaps and work with NAC in troubleshooting for high-quality outputs. The Scientist plans and leads expansion of scientific research in areas of B‑cell immunology, preclinical and clinical assay development in alignment with ATRP’s and IAVI’s scientific mandate. The Scientist has a strong immunology background, experienced in relevant lab techniques, and is well published with substantial post-PhD experience. More information can be found here.

National Centre for Biological Sciences

The project for High-resolution Brain Imaging Through Skull using Ultrasound (HIBITSU) is a multi-institutional Team Science project awarded by the India Alliance of DBT and the Wellcome Trust. Participants include NCBS-TIFR, IIT‑M, IISc, NIMHANS, and NCRA. This project is part of a broader Ultrasound Facility for TIFR and its Centres and is anchored at NCBS-TIFR, Bangalore. The goal of the project is to transform human and animal brain imaging for medical and research purposes, by developing new ultrasound techniques that can resolve brain structure and activity through the skull.
