The Institute for Stem Cell Science & Regenerative Medicine (www.instem.res.in), Bangalore is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. BRIC-inStem’s mandate is to establish collaborative research programs in the field of stem cell biology, regeneration, and repair in development and disease, with an emphasis on translation. To develop strengths in focused areas, research at BRIC-inStem is driven through collaborative interdisciplinary teams, addressing questions that are beyond the scope of a single laboratory. Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment

ATREE is seeking a creative and motivated researcher to lead interdisciplinary research and practice in agroecology. The successful candidate will work closely with other faculty at ATREE to actively foster interdisciplinary approaches within sustainability science and contribute to ATREE’s overarching mission. The Fellow’s major responsibilities will include advancing agroecosystem science across India’s agroclimatic zones, particularly the Eastern Himalayas and the Western Ghats; developing interdisciplinary approaches that enhance food and nutrient security, ecosystem resilience, and biodiversity conservation; innovating within the Food – Water – Biodiversity – Climate nexus framework to strengthen landscape multifunctionality. Primarily affiliated to ATREE’s Ecosystems and Human Well-being Programme, the Fellow will pursue these responsibilities, collaborating across ATREE’s other programmes, including Water & Society, Forests, Governance and Livelihoods, and Biodiversity Monitoring & Conservation Planning. The Fellow will also be expected to foster partnerships with farmers, local community-based organisations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to lead efforts aimed at understanding, mitigating, and adapting to the impacts of climate change on agroecosystems. In addition, the candidate will be expected to secure competitive research and outreach grants and contribute to ATREE’s teaching (Master’s and PhD programmes), training programmes, outreach activities, and other institutional initiatives. The Centre for Brain and Mind (CBM) is an exciting scientific venture of the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) and the National Institute for Mental Health & Neurosciences (NIMHANS), supported by the Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies. CBM undertakes cutting-edge research in the area of human mental illness with the goal of discovering novel and better methods for the diagnosis and clinical management of these patients. The program involves the generation and analysis of cellular models using patient-derived human-induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and their differentiated brain tissue. Baatein is CBM’s flagship science outreach initiative that was launched in 2025. Baatein has been envisioned as a space to hold open and inspirational conversations about mental health and mental well-being, backed by research and scientific evidence.
