The Khorana Program for Scholars is an internship program for Indian students (currently enrolled in graduate and post graduate programs in Biotechnology, Life Sciences and allied areas) to undertake a research internship at U.S. Universities each summer for a period of 10-12 weeks.

PKC is proud to announce Conversations with Women Role Models in STEM. This series is an initiative by The Pune Knowledge Cluster, which aims to bring forward the journey of women in various fields of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM). This series is conducted in an informal conversational format to help the audience relate to the lives of successful women professionals in S&T, knowing first-hand about their success stories, failures, and how they moved ahead to make a mark in their field. We hope this initiative will inspire young women to break gender stereotypes and societal barriers and encourage them to pursue careers in STEM.

One of the better alternative therapies to combat bacterial infections is Phage therapy. The bacteria-eating viruses (Bacteriophages) coevolved as a nemesis to bacteria during the course of evolution and the process still can be witnessed in action. The phages evolved in a very specific way, by gaining the ability of selective and strain-specific action to combat bacteria, proving their usefulness in treating infections involving MDR as well as XDR bacterial infections

Bugworks Research Inc. aims to tackle this global Anti-microbial Resistance (AMR) crisis by developing a novel class of antibiotics exhibiting broad-spectrum activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive infections. On the premise of the upcoming World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (18–24 November 2022), a global campaign by the World Health Organization for AMR awareness, we are happy to partner with Techinvention Lifecare Pvt. This Winter School is being organized for clinical researchers and basic scientists engaged in research on biomedical sciences involving humans.

Individuals currently engaged in clinical or biomedical research, and are involved in or interested to learn methods of genetic epidemiology and human microbiome research, can apply. You need to provide evidence of your engagement in such research, through publications, research summary or outline of funded projects. This Winter School will be held in person at the NIBMG, Kalyani, West Bengal. Classes will not be webcasted live.
Total number of participants will be limited to 50. A committee constituted by the organisers will select the participants.
There is no fee to participate. Boarding and lodging will be provided free-of-cost to all selected participants in the Guest House of NIBMG. Participants are expected to travel to NIBMG at their own cost. Travel support may be provided under exceptional circumstances

The International Union of Biological Sciences (IUBS) was established in 1919 as a non-governmental and non-profit organization comprising National Academies and international scientific Associations and Societies. LEAP Lab @ IIITDM Kancheepuram is looking for two PG research interns in the SERB AV VRITIKA sponsored project for two months. The project is about developing novel mobile-based Raman Spectroscopy device for breast cancer diagnosis. The work is interdisciplinary involving optics, instrumentation, electronics, and image processing.

This one-day online workshop on “Introduction to protein-protein docking and analysis” provides hands-on training on:

1. Downloading the protein sequence from protein databases
2. Predicting the 3D structure of the retrieved protein based on homology modelling,
3. Processing the files before docking
4. Performing protein-protein docking
5. Analyzing the interaction between the protein molecules
   with obtained results.
