Research Fellow in Immunology

 Hyderabad, Telangana

Profile

We invite outstanding candidates to apply for the position of research fellow/research assistant in molecular immunology. Our laboratory studies the role of T cell receptor induced ion flux in signaling and gene expression. Our early work identified genes encoding the pore subunit of store-operated CRAC channels, ORAI/CRACM (see Science 312: 1220 – 1223, 2006; Nature Immunology 9:89 – 96, 2008 and Nature Immunology 10: 21 – 27, 2009). More recently, we have identified alpha-SNAP as a closely associating partner of ORAI, which regulates the assembly and selectivity of ORAI channels (see eLIFE 2013;2: e00802 and eLIFE 2017;6:e25155). Other potential areas of interest include regulation of ion channel function and signal transduction by SNARE family proteins, in the context of inflammation and tumor progression.

Our laboratory is located at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, in Hyderabad.
More information about the lab can be found at http://tifrh.res.in/~mvig/
