Early B cell factor 2 orchestrate chromatin remodelling to drive brown fat gene program

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Project Assistant in a DST funded research project entitledEarly B cell factor 2 orchestrate chromatin remodelling to drive brown fat gene program in the Laboratory of Dr. Sona Rajakumari at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram. Our research program mainly focus on transcriptional regulation of brown fat function and its physiological role in metabolic diseases. For more information, please do refer here.

Duration

2 years or till termination of the project whichever is earliest. However, the initial appointment will be given for 1 year and further extension will be based on the performance. 

Money

12,000 + 20% HRA per month (consolidated).

Qualification

The candidates must have good academic record with first class Master’s Degree in Life Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or any other relevant subjects. Also, the candidates in the final year of Master Degree are encouraged to apply. However, the candidates must provide pass certificate at the time of interview.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Our research involves several cutting edge technologies and it includes mammalian cell culture,proteomics, transcriptomics and metabolic studies in mouse (as model system). Therefore, prior experience with mammalian cell culture and handling mouse colonies would be recommended.
