LEMoN-India (Long-term Ecosystem Monitoring Network-India) is a collaborative effort to establish a network of 1 ha forest monitoring plots along environmental gradients and across habitat types in the Indian sub-continent using standard protocols (RAINFOR-GEM protocols & CTFS protocols). Established in 2011, LEMoN India is coordinated by the Community &
Ecosystems Ecology Laboratory of the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) Bangalore, India.

We are looking for a Junior Research Fellow to oversee the laboratory component of the project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis of plant and soil samples collected periodically from our field sites, and will also be expected to visit field sites occasionally to help out with sample collection. Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for the chemical and physical analyses of plant and soil samples (including carbon, nitrogen, phosphorous and other macro- and micro-nutrients), characterization of plant functional traits, data entry and management, preliminary data analyses, and report writing. Prior experience with plant and soil analyses, and with operating elemental analyzers (CHN, ICP-OES etc) is preferable. Salaries
will be as per DST-SERB norms.
