Project

Investigating the crosstalk between primary cilia and autophagy in chondrogenesis and its modulation by Fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling in FGFR3 related skeletal dysplasias in vitro.

Profile

Applications are invited for a post of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) from eligible persons in a research project funded by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Government of India. 

Duration

The selected candidate will be appointed initially for one year which may be extended to the validity of the project based on the assessment of the candidate’s performance. Subject to his/​her performance the selected candidate may also perform PhD through this project.

Money

Rs 31,000 (Consolidated).

Qualification

Eligibility: Postgraduate degree — MSc. or MTech. (with minimum 60% marks or equivalent) in any branch of Life sciences – Biological sciences/​Biotechnology/​Biochemistry/​Genetics.

Candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC NET JRF or lecturership (LS), GATE, ICMR-JRF, DBT-JRF will be preferred. 

Experience

Through this project selected candidates will be working at the interface of basic sciences and clinical research. Candidates should have a good academic record, spoken and written communication skills in English, inquisitiveness, perseverance and strong motivation to pursue a career in science. Any skills or prior training in molecular and cellular investigation techniques – including but not limited to cell-culture, PCR/​qPCR, cloning, immunostaining, immunofluorescence and imaging approaches, western blotting, and a sound knowledge of cell biology and genetics will be desirable.
