Azim Premji University invites applications for Teaching Fellow positions in Biology

Location: Bangalore

Azim Premji University was established in 2010 by the Azim Premji Foundation. The University offers a liberal undergraduate degree in the Sciences, Economics and Humanities and post-graduate degrees in the fields of Education, Development, Public Policy and Law and Development. The University is committed to try and ensure diversity.

They are looking for a Teaching Fellow (broadly trained in ecology or molecular biology) in the Undergraduate Biology Programme.

The primary role of the Teaching Fellow will be to facilitate tutorials, mentoring students with their research projects, help faculty in developing and running labs. The undergraduate programme is fully residential, and some of the tutorials/​discussions may take place in the evenings. Fellows will be involved with one or more of the following courses during the semester: Introductory Biology, Evolutionary Biology, Biostatistics, Ecology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Cell and Developmental Biology. 

This position allows Fellows to explore innovative pedagogical practices, engage with a socio-economically diverse student cohort, and is suited for someone who is interested in working or pursuing higher studies in the future. Candidates who are motivated and interested in teaching and research are invited to apply. We seek candidates with an MSc degree in Biology, Life Sciences or related fields. This is a full time two year non-renewable position.
