Morphogenesis during Early Embryonic Development

Profile

A position for a microscopy specialist funded by The Wellcome Trust/​DBT India Alliance is open in the laboratory of Dr. Anup Padmanabhan at the Department of Biological Sciences, Ashoka University . The lab employs quantitative microscopy and image analysis to investigate the regulation of cell shape during development in C.elegans. The successful candidate will manage and carry out imaging experiments on state-of-the art confocal and wide field microscopes in the lab. Specific training related to the projects will be provided. 

Duration

Initial appointment will be for one (1) year, which is extendable upon satisfactory performance.

Money

Salary and benefits are commensurable to educational qualifications, prior experience and in accordance with Department of Biotechnology, Government of India guidelines. 

Qualification

Ph.D or a post-graduate in related fields. Experienced microscopy-savvy individuals with a bachelor’s degree are also encouraged to apply.

Experience

Deep interest and prior experience in light microscopy methods is essential. The person should have extensively worked on and/​or maintained fluorescence microscopes, which includes, but not limited to, widefield and/​or confocal microscopes.
