Morphogenesis during Early Embryonic Development


A Project Assistant / Research Technician position funded by The Wellcome Trust/​DBT India Alliance is open in Dr. Anup Padmanabhan’s lab at the Department of Biological Sciences, Ashoka University. The lab uses C. elegans as model organism and employs various molecular biology, genetics, and microscopy techniques to investigate the regulation of cell shape during development. The successful candidate will contribute in projects with experiments related to cloning, generating transgenics, and genetic screening. The person will also assist in daily operations of the laboratory including maintaining inventories and ordering supplies related to the project. Training and mentorship specific to the project will be provided 


Initial appointment will be for 6 months, which is extendable upon satisfactory performance. 


Salary and benefits are commensurable to educational qualifications, prior experience and in accordance with Department of Biotechnology, Government of India guidelines. 


  • Post-graduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Must have an enthusiasm for research, passion to learn and be able to maintain meticulous records of experimental procedures. 


In-depth knowledge and laboratory expertise in molecular biology & cloning and/​or microbiology. Prior experience in C. elegans is an advantage, but not mandatory.
