BRIC-inStem invites applications (in online mode) from eligible candidates for a contractual Scientific position in the laboratory of Dr. Bhavana Muralidharan, inStem Bangalore. They are looking for dedicated professionals who are result-oriented, can assimilate, analyze and communicate data effectively and are excellent team players capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

This position is available in the lab of Dr. Bhavana Muralidharan, who studies brain development in health and disease. One of the candidates will work with Dr. Kruttika Phalnikar, a DBT Wellcome Trust Early Career fellow. The ideal candidate should be proficient in working with stem cell and mammalian cell culture, mouse brain, basic and advanced molecular biology techniques such as cloning, transfection and epigenetic analysis. Additional skills include confocal/​fluorescent microscopy. The candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational and planning abilities, and a demonstrated record of scientific productivity. The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team is essential.

Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate‑I in a Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB)- Department of Science & Technology (DST)-sponsored project, entitled ​“Do cognitive demands affect information processing along the transverse and the longitudinal axes of area CA1 of the hippocampus?”, under the supervision of Dr Sachin Deshmukh, Department of Life Sciences, School of Natural Sciences, Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, Gautam Buddha Nagar.

The work involves hardware design and manufacture, writing software (for experiment control and quantitative analysis) as well as performing actual implantation surgeries, neural recordings and behavioral experiments followed by histology to localize electrodes. The Jain Lab at CHINTA, TCG CREST (Kolkata, India) invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to study behavioural timescale synaptic plasticity in CA1 neurons, with a focus on sex-specific differences in locus coeruleus (LC)-mediated norepinephrine signalling. This project integrates patch clamp electrophysiology, optogenetics, and two-photon imaging to dissect LC-CA1 circuit mechanisms in vivo.
