The positions are purely temporary and will co-terminate with Project (duration 2 years). Motivated students may also register for a Ph.D. program, subject to fulfilling the admission requirements of the respective university.
The project involves translational research in the field of cancer immunotherapy. Candidates are expected to have training and/or experience in areas such as: Molecular biology, Recombinant protein expression (bacterial and mammalian systems), Protein purification and characterization, Cell culture techniques, Immunological assays, Animal handling and mice studies, etc.

Candidates should hold an M.Sc./M.Tech. degree in Biotechnology or any allied field of Life Sciences and fulfill the eligibility criteria as per DST guidelines (DST Memorandum No. SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30.01.2019).

Project Overview: Candida species are common members of the human microbiota but can become opportunistic pathogens under specific conditions. This project aims to understand how interactions between different Candida species influence their evolution, fitness, and transition from commensalism to pathogenesis. The research combines experimental evolution, fungal genetics, microbiology, host– pathogen interaction studies, microscopy, flow cytometry, genomics, transcriptomics, and bioinformatics to uncover the molecular basis of dual-species candidiasis.

Minimum eligibility criterion for candidates to be considered is to have at least three publications in journals with impact factor of 2.0 or more. The candidate must be a first author/ joint first author/ corresponding author in at least one of these papers. Exceptions may be made for candidates with a paper in a journal of impact factor of more than 5.5.
The candidate must have demonstrated experience in in-vitro transcription methods using E. coli RNA polymerase including running of sequencing (denaturing PAGE) gels, enzyme kinetics, protein purification and biochemistry and molecular biology (cloning). No knowledge of NMR is required for this project.
