Senior Fellowships are awarded to senior Indian researchers who have made significant contribution in the field of Social Sciences through projects/ publications, including books published by reputed publishers and research papers in peer-reviewed journals with high impact factor. The studies made by the Senior Fellows are expected to have the potential to contribute in the development of the nation by providing evidence-based solution to current and future challenges in different fields.
The candidates shall submit an online application on the ICSSR website from 22.06.2026 onwards. The last date for online submission of application is 21.07.2026.
Applicants are required to read the guidelines carefully before submitting their online application forms. The research proposal should be submitted only in the format attached with the application form. No separate research proposal is to be attached. Applicants are also advised to apply well before the last date in order to avoid last moment rush. The applications can be filled either in English or in Hindi (Arial/Mangal Unicode font will be used in Devanagari script to fill application form in Hindi).

]]>Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) announces the Summer Research Fellowship aimed at encouraging research in the Natural Sciences and Engineering among undergraduate and master’s students from the seven sister states of Northeast India. It is designed to promote research exposure and scientific engagement among talented undergraduate and postgraduate students by providing them with an opportunity to undertake short-term research projects under the guidance of experienced faculty mentors working in the fields of Natural Sciences and Engineering.
The programme enables the selected students to undertake an 8-week research internship under the guidance of faculty mentors from institutions across the Northeast, with possible collaborative exposure at JNCASR, Bengaluru. Students of the North Eastern region pursuing B.Sc., B.Tech., M.Sc., MBBS, or similar degree programmes in the country are eligible to apply.
Selected fellows will receive a fellowship of ₹20,000 upon successful completion of the internship, along with travel support (as per the eligibility) up to ₹5,000 per annum. Additional travel assistance will also be provided for students undertaking collaborative research work at JNCASR, Bengaluru.

]]>Department of Science & Technology (DST) has taken several pioneering initiatives for attracting meritorious students to study basic and natural sciences at the college and university level and to pursue research careers in both basic and applied science areas, including engineering, medicine, agriculture, veterinary sciences and pharmacy etc. through various components under Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE).
INSPIRE offers an opportunity for pursuing Doctoral Research at any recognized University or Institute in India through Fellowships at the same level as National Eligibility Test (NET) qualified candidates. The INSPIRE Fellowship component of the INSPIRE Program is focused on attracting students to pursue a regular doctoral degree in basic and applied sciences, including engineering, medicine, agriculture, veterinary, pharmacy etc., after either Master’s / Bachelor’s degree (minimum 4 years or 8 semesters) in Science/ Applied Science/ Engineering/ Medicine.
Applications are invited for the year 2025, from eligible candidates preferably in the age group of 22-27 years for Fellowship, under the INSPIRE Fellowship component of the INSPIRE scheme of DST through the web portal https://www.online-inspire.gov...
Candidates who are Indian citizens and have acquired their eligibility for the INSPIRE Fellowship during the years 2024, 2025 and 2026 (till closing date of the call) are eligible to apply.
The students who are already enjoying Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) or a higher position in any project or otherwise are not eligible to apply for this. Merely having the eligibility does not guarantee the offer of the INSPIRE Fellowship. Finally, selected students for the INSPIRE Fellowship against the previous advertisement need not apply again.
The Fellowship amount under the INSPIRE Fellowship is as per the GoI norms of fellowship (Junior Research Fellowship/ Senior Research Fellowship) and a research grant to the candidate. There is a provision of 1000 INSPIRE Fellowships to be offered to eligible students against the INSPIRE Fellowship-2025 call and each Fellowship is tenable for a maximum period of five years or completion of the PhD viva-voce, whichever is earlier. This Fellowship shall not be available to pursue M.Sc. or M.Phil. or M. Tech. course while pursing Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D./ M. Phil.-Ph.D./ M.Tech.-Ph.D. courses.

The Associateship is tenable in Premier Research Institutions/Universities including non-profit R&D Institutions within India. The Associateships are awarded under the “DBT-Research Associateship” programme supported by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India.
The objective of DBT-Research Associateship (DBT-RA) Programme is to train and nurture young researchers, scientists and generate a critical mass of trained manpower in modern areas of biology and biotechnology and build a robust postdoctoral base for the growth of Biotechnology sectors in the country. These fellowships do not provide an allowance for dependents, and the stipend provided under the grant is not sufficient to support family members. The program will involve a number of activities where it will be difficult to include dependents.

The program enables the development of new institutional platforms, such as world class research laboratories, venture-builder institutions, and collaborative research centres anchored with universities, national research laboratories, research parks or in partnerships with other Ministries, Departments and State Governments.
