In the last decade, one of the key advancements in the landscape of the education system is the incorporation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in various aspects of education. This has been facilitated by the​‘Digital India’ program, launched by the Government of India in 2015, to transform India into a​‘digitally empowered society and knowledge economy’. Digital technology has become increasingly important for distance and life-long learning, better classroom experiences, improved pedagogy, versatile curriculums, and flexible student-teacher interactions. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 well recognizes the immense potential of digital incorporation in education and thus, has carefully included the elements of digital education in its framework.

In the webinar, digital education expert Charu Dogra Rawat will explore and discuss initiatives and strategies pertaining to digital education recommended in NEP 2020. It will also delve into the roles of various stakeholders in realizing these recommendations and thus, contribute towards raising the standards of the Indian higher education system globally. The webinar will also highlight how digital education through NEP 2020 can aid in the attainment of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 of Quality Education that aims to​“ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” by 2030.
