Application of CRISPR-Cas Gene Editing Tool

Event Details

With the recent development in science and technology, recent development in the genome editing at the cellular level has revolutionized the horizon of existing Genetic Engineering principles and its myriad applications. With the introduction of an extremely sensitive and powerful gene editing tool named Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)’ has brought exciting opportunities in the biomedical fields. Owing to such immense scope, the same technology has earned Nobel prize in Chemistry in 2020. The CRISPR/ Cas gene editing tool programme would enable the participants to harbor basic training over the latest advances in Crispr/Cas based genome editing techniques. This 5‑day Faculty Development Program (Online) will walk you through details of a basic CRISPR cell engineering workflow, from design and synthesis of target-specific guide RNAs to analysis of gene editing efficiency.

Organizer — Department of Biotechnology, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (MAKAUT, WB), formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT)

Target participants — The respective Faculty members of the AICTE approved institutions, Research scholars, PG Scholars, participants from Government, Industry (Bureaucrats/Technicians/Participants from Industry, etc.) /School Teachers and staff of the host institutions, who want to have a comprehensive knowledge base over the CRISPR science & technology and its future opportunities.
