  • 16th Young Investigators’ Meeting

    The 16th annual Young Investigators’ Meeting (YIM 2024) was held from 11 – 15 March 2024 at Courtyard by Marriott, Bhopal and the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. 



    The first part of the meeting, Young Investigator Meeting (YIM) was held between 11 — 13 March 2024. The meeting brought together early-career and senior scientists, resource personnel, representatives from funding agencies and engagement partners. 

    The event featured thought-provoking and inspirational talks by mentors from across India and abroad, along with engaging mini-workshops, a science exhibit, Ask Us Anything sessions, poster presentations and open networking and interactions. This year’s YIM also highlighted various initiatives at IndiaBioscience by introducing short talks by the team members. YIM 2024 introduced the IndiaBioscience Childcare Grants, which were granted to eight participants and co-organisers. The meeting drew ~150 participants, across different career stages, fields in science and geographic and institutional diversity.

    The second part of the event, Postdoctoral Fellows (PDF) Satellite Meeting, took place between 14 — 15 March 2024. The meeting was attended by postdoctoral fellows, directors and institutional representatives from close to 20 institutions and universities. The meeting spanned a day and a half and included networking sessions, short talks by directors and institute representatives, 5‑minute lightning talks by PDF attendees. 

    IndiaBioscience thanks the YIM 2024 organisers, funding partners, interns, volunteers and participants for their support for 16th edition of this meeting.

  • IndiaBioscience stall at Campus@25 at NCBS

    IndiaBioscience actively participated in the celebration of campus@25 at National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bengaluru with a vibrant stall. The event featured the presence of Bharat Ratna awardee CNR Rao, along with K VijayRaghavan, LS Shashidhara, and Satyajit Mayor, who shared their anecdotes and discussed NCBS’ journey over the past 25 years!

    Manjula Harikrishna, Program Manager of Community Building, represented IndiaBioscience and engaged with students, teachers, and early career researchers. She shared freely downloadable resources and encouraged visitors to explore our website. Her interactions showcased IndiaBioscience’s commitment to fostering community engagement within the life science community in India.

  • Poster presentation at NCBS Annual Talks 2024

    IndiaBioscience had the opportunity to showcase its activities through a poster presentation at NCBS Annual Talks 2024, held between, 10 — 12 January 2024. 

    Manjula Harikrishna presented the poster during these two days, and it was an engaging experience to interact with students and researchers to increase the visibility of the program’s initiatives.
